Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. Nikolaus Fleischhacker BSc MSC studierte Bau-, Umweltingenieurwissenschaften und Domotronik an der Universität Innsbruck und erwarb dort die akademischen Grade Bachelor of Science, Diplomingenieur, Master of Science und Doktor der technischen Wissenschaften.
Seit 2012 arbeitet er zunächst als Universitätsassistent am Arbeitsbereich für Massiv- und Brückenbau und anschließend als Senior Lecturer in den Arbeitsbereich für Festigkeitslehre und Baustatik der Universität Innsbruck.
Seit 2014 ist er Mitgesellschafter und CTO der FEN Sustain Systems GmbH (FEN Systems), die im Jahr 2016 zusammen mit großen Playern aus der Industrie und kleinen Startups das Green Energy Center Europe gegründet hat. Diese privatwirtschaftliche Initiative verfolgt seither das Ziel, »Brücken in eine grüne Zukunft« zu bauen. Aus diesem Zusammenhang ist 2018 die FEN Research GmbH hervor gegangen, der er seither als CEO und Leiter der beiden Forschungszentren „E-West" und „HyWest" vor steht. Er ist damit federführend an national und international richtungsweisenden Forschungsprojekten, welche dem Umbau des Energiesystems dienen, beteiligt. Zuletzt war er auch als Experte am europäischen Agenda-Prozess für grünen Wasserstoff tätig.
Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. Nikolaus Fleischhacker BSc MSc was born in Innsbruck in 1988. He graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium Adolf-Pichler-Platz Innsbruck, studied Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Domotronics at the University of Innsbruck and also obtained his Bachelor of Science, Diploma Engineer, Master of Science and Doctor of Technical Sciences degrees there. Since 2012, he has been working first as a University Assistant at the Department of Solid and Bridge Engineering and then as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Engineering at the University of Innsbruck.
In 2014, together with his father, he founded FEN Sustain Systems GmbH (FEN Systems), where he has since been working as the technical managing director, assisting clients from politics, industry, commerce and private households within the energy system transformation. He is co-founder of the Green Energy Center Europe at Technikerstraße 1-3 in Innsbruck, which has been home to the privately organized Codex partnership of players from industry and startups since 2016. This has given rise to the two research centers "E-West" and "HyWest", which he currently leads as CEO of FEN Research GmbH, founded in 2018. He plays a leading role in nationally and internationally pioneering research projects that focus on the energy system transformation. Most recently, he also served as an expert the European agenda process for green hydrogen.
